Paws For a Cause

Note: By participating in this raffle, the participant accepts the full terms, conditions, and rules of this raffle and agrees to abide by these rules and any requirements and/or proceedings issued by FOUR PAWS regarding the competition.

1. Organiser

1.1. This raffle is organised by FOUR PAWS Animal Welfare Foundation, a registered non-profit organisation with company registration number 2006/039176/08 and NPO number 151993 (“FOUR PAWS”).

2. Purpose and Duration

2.1. All proceeds of this raffle will be used to support the work we do Paws For a Cause.

2.2. The raffle opens on 02 January 2026 and closes at midnight on 31 December 2026.

3. NLC Approval

This raffle is conducted in accordance with the Lotteries Act, 57 of 1997 and is authorised by the National Lotteries Commission (“NLC”) under reference number 00479/01.

4. Eligibility

4.1. Raffle participation is open to all persons aged 18 years or older who are residents of South Africa.

4.2. Directors, staff of FOUR PAWS and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter this raffle.

5. Ticket Purchase

5.1. Eligible persons may enter the raffle by completing the sign-up form on FOUR PAWS’ website, before the closing date of the raffle, by providing their full name, surname, email address and contact number.

5.2. Each raffle entry requires the purchase of a raffle ticket at a price of R100 per ticket, which can be a once-off purchase or a recurring purchase.

5.3. Only tickets that have been fully paid for and issued with a unique serial number will be entered into the draw.

6. The Draw

6.1. The draw will take place every four months, comprising tickets sold during that period (Jan–Apr, May–Aug, Sept–Dec).

• 🗓️ Draw 2: First week of September 2026
• 🗓️ Draw 3: First week of January 2027

6.3. The draw will be conducted in a fair and transparent manner in accordance with NLC requirements.

6.4. The results will be verified by an independent auditor, accountant, attorney, or advocate selected by FOUR PAWS.

6.5. If the draw cannot take place on a date specified due to reasons beyond control, it will be conducted as soon as reasonably possible, and participants will be notified.

7. The Prize

7.1. The prize is a cash amount of R25,000 (“the Prize”) which must be redeemed within six months of the winner being notified.

7.2. The Prize is exclusively for the winner and is not transferable unless the winner wishes to donate it back to FOUR PAWS.

7.3. The Prize will be awarded to the winner by the Head of Fundraising Manager of FOUR PAWS.

7.4. Note: If fewer than 1000 tickets are sold for any 4-month draw, the prize value for that month will be equal to 50% of the value of tickets sold for that draw.

8. The Winner

8.1. The winner will be contacted using the contact information provided when purchasing the raffle ticket.

8.2. The winner may be invited to be photographed, interviewed, or participate in marketing activities. The winner has the right to decline such invitation.

8.3. If a winner cannot be reached within 7 days, has invalid contact details, or fails to redeem the prize within six months, the prize may be forfeited. FOUR PAWS reserves the right to select another winner or not award a prize.

9. No Refunds

Raffle ticket purchases are non-refundable, except where cancellation is required by the NLC.

10. Personal Information

By entering this raffle, participants acknowledge that their personal information will be shared with FOUR PAWS and its agents to conduct the raffle and authorise processing in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.

11. Verification and Fraud Prevention

FOUR PAWS reserves the right to verify the validity of any entry and to refuse any entry (i) which does not comply with these terms; or (ii) where a person tampers with the process.

11.1. FOUR PAWS may refuse the redemption of any Prize in the event of any irregularities or fraudulent activities.
