The business of FOUR PAWS South Africa is to raise funds via donors in order to campaign against animal cruelty and provide disaster relief, emergency rescue missions etc. where necessary.
FOUR PAWS knows that current and potential donors, supporters, those persons and entities who are suppliers to us and all our employees care about how their personal information is used and shared. This policy describes the types of personal information that we may collect, the purposes for which we use the information, the circumstances in which we may share the information and the steps that we take to safeguard the information to protect the privacy of those persons and entities we deal with.

Personal Information Collection
What personal information do we collect?
Generally, we collect and hold information such as (but not limited to) names, addresses, contact information, occupations, dates of birth and any other information which assists us in conducting our business and complying with our legal obligations. We collect personal information by way of face-to-face interaction, emails, our website, petitions and from third parties.
Personal information about children:
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children (under 18 years of age) without the permission of their parent or guardian.
Usage & Security
We use personal information to inform individuals about emergency missions, regular news updates and as part of client service management. Personal information relating to suppliers is used to conduct the normal operations of our business.
Protection of the Company: We will only release personal information when we believe that such a release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our mandated or other agreements; or protect the rights, property or safety of the Company.
Security & Storage: We maintain appropriate physical, electronic and procedural safeguards. We retain your personal data only for the period necessary for the purposes set out in this policy or in accordance with applicable legislation.

Third-Party Tools & Cookies
Cookies
Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers transferred to your hard drive. They enable our systems to recognize your browser and collect statistical data. You can prevent your browser from accepting cookies via the "Help" menu on most browsers.
HubSpot Analytics
We use HubSpot Analytics provided by HubSpot UK Holdings Limited to analyse user interactions. This tracks page views, clicks, form submissions, and session duration using cookies (e.g., “__hstc”, “hubspotutk”) which have a lifetime of up to 6 months.

Google Services
Google Analytics: Uses cookies to analyse website usage. Information is usually transferred to Google servers in the USA.
Remarketing & DoubleClick: Enables personalised ads on the Google Display Network based on your past visits. You can opt-out via Google Ads Settings.
Google AdWords Conversion Tracking: Uses a cookie (max 90 days) to track if you reached a target page via an ad.
Google Tag Manager: Manages website tags but does not access data itself.
Google Maps & Fonts: Connects to Google servers (transferring IP address) to display maps and fonts.
reCAPTCHA: Protects our site from spam/bots by analyzing user behavior. Google Privacy Policy.
Meta (Facebook) Tools
Facebook Connect: Allows logging in via Facebook. Facebook receives information about your activities.
Meta Pixel & Conversions API: Tracks events (page views, submissions) to optimise ads and create "Website Custom Audiences". Data is processed by Meta and our processor JENTIS GmbH.
You can manage ad preferences via your Facebook settings or aboutads.info.
Other Technologies
jQuery (StackPath): A Content Delivery Network (CDN) to load our website quickly. Uses anonymised data for security.
ALAN Captcha: Protects against spam without cookies, processing technical data (widget version, browser type) to differentiate humans from bots.
Usercentrics: Our Consent Management Platform. Stores your consent status (ConsentID, Timestamp) on Google Cloud servers in the EU.
Business Processes
Newsletters & Emails
We use HubSpot to send emails. Registration creates a record for legal proof. Emails contain a "web-beacon" to track open rates and clicks for statistical analysis. You can opt-out at any time via the link in each email.
Online Events
Registration requires your name and email. Data is stored for the duration of the event. We may use providers like Slido (USA) for interaction. Participation implies consent to data transfer under standard contractual clauses.
Donations & Petitions
Donations: Credit/Debit card data is transmitted to payment providers (Payfast, Paygate and Linkserv).
Petitions: Data is shared with the addressee (e.g., public authority) and service providers managing the petition.
Notices & Revisions: Unless stated otherwise, our current privacy policy applies to all information we have on record. We will not materially change policies to make them less protective without consent.
Limitation of Liability: FOUR PAWS shall not be liable for punitive, special, consequential, or indirect damages.
